We built our platform on a foundation of trust. These protections are not aspirational — they are binding commitments we make to every seller.

1. Your Earnings Are Yours
All finalized earnings belong to you regardless of your account status. An earning is considered finalized once the order has been paid and the 7-day buyer refund window has passed without a dispute.
If your account is suspended or terminated for any reason, all finalized earnings will be paid out to your Stripe Connect account within 14 business days of the account action. We will never forfeit earned funds as a punitive measure.
Summary: Money you've earned cannot be taken away.
2. Transparent Appeals Process
If your account is suspended, you will receive a written explanation of the specific reason within 24 hours. You have the right to appeal any suspension. Our process:
- 1 48-hour acknowledgment — You will receive written confirmation that your appeal has been received and is under review.
- 2 7-day resolution target — We aim to resolve all appeals within 7 business days.
- 3 Written decision — All decisions are delivered in writing with specific reasons. No unexplained terminations.
3. Content Protection
We actively check uploaded content for similarity to existing resources on our platform. If another seller uploads content that matches yours, we will:
- Notify you within 48 hours of detection
- Investigate the duplicate upload immediately
- Remove the infringing content if the investigation confirms copying
- Provide you a written report of the outcome
Note: Content similarity checks use file hashing for exact matches. We cannot detect all forms of copying, but we take every report seriously.
4. Payment Security
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. SchoolHouseStock never holds your funds beyond Stripe's normal settlement period (typically 2 business days for US accounts).
The platform fee (currently 10% of each transaction) is deducted automatically at the time of purchase via Stripe Connect. There are no hidden fees, no monthly minimums, and no withdrawal fees beyond standard Stripe transfer costs.
5. No Surprise Fee Changes
We will never change platform fees without advance notice. Our commitment:
- 60-day advance notice for any fee changes, sent to all active sellers by email
- Sellers who joined under a specific fee rate are grandfathered for 12 months — your original rate is locked for one year from your account creation date
- Fee changes will be announced on our blog and seller dashboard before taking effect
6. Dispute Resolution
Chargebacks and buyer disputes are handled through Stripe's dispute resolution system. SchoolHouseStock's policy:
- You will be notified of any dispute within 24 hours of it opening
- You will always be given 72 hours to submit evidence before any funds are deducted from your account
- Platform does not automatically deduct chargeback amounts — we advocate on your behalf using your evidence
- If a chargeback is lost despite submitted evidence, SchoolHouseStock may absorb up to $25 of the loss for sellers in Good Standing
